The Centre for Community Law congratulates the President of the Community Court of Justice, ECOWAS, Justice Edward Amoako Asante on his elevation to Ghana’s Court of Appeal. This appointment is very remarkable as it undoubtedly increases the incentive for constructive engagement of the municipal law of Ghana with the laws of ECOWAS and the jurisprudence of its courts. It is hoped that  Justice Edward Amoako Asante would leverage on his wealth of knowledge of ECOWAS laws in appropriate cases and contribute in his own way to bridging the gap between the jurisprudence of the municipal courts of member States and that of the ECOWAS court.

By this appointment, the President of the Republic of Ghana, President Nana Addo Akufo-Addo, has again demonstrated his unmistakable support for the ECOWAS Court.
